Counting On star Jessa Duggar is currently in the process of building her YouTube channel, and over the past few weeks she has been posting videos about her life as a mom of three young children. Duggar has posted videos about feeding picky eaters, tutorials for giving haircuts to little boys, and a simple clothing system for a growing family. Her latest video is all about entertaining, but it was her seven-month-old daughter Ivy Jane that stole the show.
Duggar’s newest video is titled “Hospitality: The House, The Food, The Conversation.” And, in the 14-minute clip, Duggar shared with her fans that her family goal this year with husband Ben Seewald was to be more hospitable and invite more people into their home.
The 27-year-old explained that she doesn’t see herself as “an amazing hostess,” and she doesn’t have a lot of skills when it comes to hosting and entertaining. But, Duggar says you don’t have to be a professional party planner or an amazing cook to enjoy a fun evening with friends at home. Instead, the goal is to simply welcome people into your life and make them feel loved,
During the video, Duggar sat on her couch at home while speaking to the camera, and next to her was baby Ivy Jane. As Duggar explained her tips for a successful night at home with friends, Ivy Jane looked straight into the camera with her big eyes and seemed thoroughly entertained by what her mom was saying – until her toy giraffe caught her attention.
Duggar’s oldest son Spurgeon also walked into the shot a few times to ask his mom questions about finding a spoon to scoop the pickle juice out of the pickle jar. But, her second-oldest son Henry didn’t make an appearance.

Duggar’s tips for entertaining included setting realistic goals, asking your guests in advance if they have any allergies, aversions, or preferences when it comes to the food, using paper products and serving buffet style, and having conversation pieces ready before the guests arrive.
Jessa Duggar’s tips for entertaining were aimed at families with young children, and those who wish to have fun with both old and new friends at home without spending lots of money.
“If you’re striving for perfection before you can have people into your home, you just may end up never having people over because it’s hard to get your house spotless and keep it that way with young kids,” Jessa explained.
