The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) worries about Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) helping Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).
Diane knows he’s acting as her Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor, but still, the two have a past together-could Diane’s jealousy end her marriage?
The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Jack Abbott Ended Things With Phyllis Summers Over Her Jealousy
Diane remembers when she first came back to town, and Jack ended things with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Diane wasn’t even trying to get back together with Jack, she was more interested in trying to mend fences with their son, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
Yet, Phyllis responded in jealousy and insecurity and didn’t trust Jack to be faithful to her and Diane not to try and get in his pants!
Needless to say, it was a total turnoff to Jack-he dumped Phyllis permanently like a hot rock! When Diane talked to Nikki in kindness, Nikki was ugly to her-although she can’t fathom she’d cheat on Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) with Jack, could she make trouble anyway?
Y & R Spoilers: Jealousy Will Get You Everywhere-Except Staying In Your Marriage
Diane knows lack of trust is the quickest thing to break up any relationship-and she’s worked hard to prove herself trustworthy, even though her detractors still don’t trust her.
Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) has laid off of her, but she’s got her own problems with Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John)-Diane could have warned her but she wouldn’t have listened.
Phyllis is no longer an issue, she’s moved on to trying to recapture her youth chasing after Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian). Of the unholy trinity who considered themselves Diane’s judges and jury, only Nikki is giving problems, but she’s got plenty of her own and Jack’s trying to help.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Diane Jenkins-Abbott Wisely Keeps Her Doubts To Herself
Diane wisely decides to keep her doubts to herself and decides to support Jack as he supports Nikki-there is a strong possibility she’s associating Diane with her last fall from sobriety.
Diane would never do things now like she regrets having done then, and she’ll continue to hope people will eventually forget. She will do her best to be kind even if Nikki doesn’t return her kindness, recognizing she and her family have been through hell and back.
It’s a shame that Nikki’s original sponsor fell off the wagon himself, and that Jack found himself feeling he needed to step in. But Diane just keeps reminding herself he’s being a good friend and a good man, not trying to re-establish a relationship!
