(CelebrityAccess) – Ebro Darden, a cultural authority and arbiter of taste in the hip hop and R&B community has been named Apple Music’s Global Editorial Head of Hip-Hop and R&B.
In his new role, Darden will manage a team of Hip-Hop and R&B editors as they build out editorial plans for artists, albums and song releases. He and his team will also be tasked with seeking out talent and connecting with urban music communities around the world.
Darden joined Apple Music in 2015 as an anchor host of Apple Music’s Beats 1 global livestream alongside Zane Lowe and Julie Adenuga. The show has been instrumental in spotlighting some of the largest artists in music today from Meek Mill, Cardi B and Ariana Grande to Janelle Monae, Jennifer Lopez and J Balvin among countless others. It will remain in its current time slot on M-TH from 3-5PM EST. Darden will also continue to host Ebro In The Morning, his successful New York morning radio show on Hot97 (WQHT) which airs M-F from 6AM to 10AM.
Darden’s position as Apple’s new Global Editorial Head of Hip-Hop and R&B is effective immediately.
