One such moment will arrive in the game, where the players will take up the “Githyanki Creche” questline and be tasked with finding the Blood of Lathander. In this guide, we will provide you with a detailed walkthrough to obtain the Blood of Lathander in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to Get the Blood of Lathander in BG3
Collect the Ceremonial Weapons
The Blood of Lathander can be obtained during the “Find the Blood of Lathander” quest in the Rosymorn Monastery. As you enter the Rosymorn Monastery, you will come across a painting that also acts as a puzzle.
The first step to getting the Blood of Lathander is to solve this puzzle. To do so, you need to find ceremonial weapons and place them in specific locations in this painting to open the secret chamber and find the Blood of Lathander.
While the Ceremonial Longsword can already be found beside the altar, you have to look for the Ceremonial Battleaxe, Ceremonial Warhammer, and Ceremonial mace.
Starting off with the Ceremonial Battleaxe, head to the passage on the southwestern side of the room. Keep progressing through the passage until you reach a locked Enchanted Door. Picklock the door and enter the room.
Inside the room, you will find the Ceremonial battle axe. However, there is a Guardian of Faith guarding the Ceremonial Battleaxe. Fight and win against the Guardian of Faith, and pick up the Ceremonial Battleaxe from the ground.
Just after exiting the room of the Ceremonial Battleaxe, you will find knotted roots on your left side. Climb through the roots and reach the roof of the Monastery. You can find the Ceremonial Warhammer here, but this time, an Eagle is guarding it.
Reaching the location will start a conversation with the eagles; however, you are most unlikely to convince them to give you the weapon. Take a fight against the eagles, and once they are defeated, pick up the Ceremonial Warhammer from the nest.
Now, make your way back to the room with the giant painting. At the altar opposite to the one with the Ceremonial Longaxe, you will find a broken window. Get past the broken window and proceed a little farther.
After that, you will find a way to go underground. Make a jump into the underground space, and you will find an Oak Door in front of you. Get inside the room, and you will come across the Rusty Mace.
Come back to the altar room with the Rusty Mace. Now, use the Throw action of each item and place them in the following altars:
- Rusty Mace: Opposite altar of the Ceremonial Longsword
- Ceremonial Warhammer: Right altar of the Ceremonial Longsword
- Ceremonial Battleaxe: Left altar of the Ceremonial Longsword.
After placing the Ceremonial Weapons in the right places, a chamber will open with a pouch inside it. From the pouch, you will find Dawnmaster’s Crest.
Solve the Inquisitor’s Chamber Puzzle
After placing all the weapons in the right places, make your way back to the passage from which you found the Ceremonial Battleaxe. Proceed further through the path, and you will find a gate with stairs outside.
Take the stairs and head to the lower level. Head east of the stairs, and you will find a barrier blocking your path.
However, you can simply use your attacks to break the barriers. Following the path, you will reach Rosymorn Monastery. Progress further, and you will find your way to the monastery basement.
From the monastery basement, you will enter the Creech Y’llek. Keep going deeper, following the path to reach the Captain’s Quarters. It doesn’t end here; you must go further, following the path past the Captain’s Quarters to finally reach the Inquisitor’s Chamber.
Now, go to the room on the west side, which will lead you to a room with two statues.
Now, you can interact with the statues to turn them. However, the statue on the left is stuck due to its rusty condition. Don’t worry; simply hitting it with an attack will make it rust-free. Now, rotate the right statue once.
Then, rotate the left statue thrice. Finally, rotate the right statue thrice again. This will open a path for you, which leads to the Daybreak Gate.

Find the Blood of Lathander
After reaching the Daybreak Gate, open the door and take the Secret Stairway. This stairway will lead you to the Secret Chamber, where the Blood of the Lathander can be found. After entering the hidden chamber, you will find a blue glowing energy source blocking your path. Break the energy source and move forward, following the path that opens afterwards.
Soon after entering the next room, a secret path leads behind the rocks. Take the path, and you will find another energy source. Break this as well, and make your way forward. Right after breaking this energy source, you will come across the Dawnbreaker Trap.
This trap has a DC 14 Sleight of Hand check. Pass the check while staying behind the trap to disarm it successfully.
Make your way forward, and you will find a path leading to the left. Don’t take it. Keep going forward, and you will find another energy source. Break this energy source and keep going forward through the path adjacent to it.
Keep going forward through the path you avoided before, and it will lead you to the Blood of Lathander.
Now, if you just go and pick up the mace, the whole monastery will blow up, and in order to stop that, you will be required to do a lot of extra work.
The easiest way to get the Blood of Lathander without destroying the monastery is to simply insert the Dawnbreaker’s Crest on the switch under the mace, which will disarm the mace. Now, go and stash the Blood of Lathander.
