Idaho woman arrested in Boise following death of 20-month-old child

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) A mother was arrested in Boise on Friday following the death of her 20-month-old child. Amanda Dunlap, of Twin Falls, is facing one charge of first-degree murder and nine counts of injury to a child. Eight of those nine counts are felonies.

The 22-year-old was arrested by Boise Police on a warrant out of Twin Falls. She was booked into the Ada County Jail early Saturday morning.

On October 8, the Twin Falls Police Department responded to St. Luke’s Magic Valley regarding a 20-month-old child in distress. The child was flown to a hospital in Boise.

The Twin Falls Police Department, with assistance from the Boise Police Department, immediately started an investigation.

The child died as a result of their injuries on October 14.

Twin Falls County Prosecutor Grant Loebs has confirmed that Dunlap is the child's mother.

The Twin Falls Police Department is not releasing any other information at this time. This remains an active investigation.
