Boise, ID (CBS2) — The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) will be launching a new 511 app and updating the 511 website on Jan. 23, 2023.
The 511 web address and phone number will stay the same but users will need to download the new version of the app for their mobile devices. the changes will start at noon on Jan. 23 and are expected to take several hours ITD will send out a public notification when the changes are complete.
The current 511 and the 511 Trucking apps will not be supported after the updates on Jan. 23. and there will no longer be a designated trucking app after the new system is up but the new app has a trucking information setting that can be turned off and on.
The new app will have additional features and tools to help you plan your trips and will display special events, seven-day weather forecasts, and highway oasis locations that might impact your travel. If you had a previous 511 account you will need to create a new account in order to save routes and set up notifications.
