Manchester United’s main sponsor has now shocked fans with a new decision on Mason Greenwood’s career, MySportDab reports.

The 21-year-old’s future at Old Trafford is not yet settled as the forward awaits the verdict of the ongoing investigation.

He has not played for United since his arrest in January 2022 on suspicion of rape and assault, and could not play for the club or train with the his teammates.

A few months back, The Crown Prosecution Service dropped all charges against Greenwood, and fans want to know if he will be back.

However, there are reports United could send him out on loan this summer with Italian club Atalanta interested.

Now, According to The Sun, Manchester United’s main sponsors adidas have approved his return after some talks recently.

The approval from adidas could ensure that other sponsors follow suit and his team mates would also welcome him back if the club agrees.

The Sun claim that adidas don’t see Greenwood’s return as an ‘obstacle’ and won’t be ‘fiercely opposed’ to his return.

Manchester United signed a deal worth around £750m with adidas for next ten-years since the 2015-16 season.

Greenwood has been working on fitness by training with Anthony Elanga, who left the Red Devils for Nottingham Forest this summer.

Also, reports suggest that United could include Mason Greenwood on loan as part of the deal to sign Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund.

United’s football director John Murtough has not ruled out Greenwood making a loan move to Atalanta during his negotiations.

Greenwood currently does not live in his Cheshire home, although United sources say that talk of him going on loan to Italy is not certain.

United have identified Hojlund as their No.1 target for a striker this summer, but Atalanta’s £86m valuation of the 20-year-old has proved to be a stumbling block.
