It is quite common for celebrities to get embroiled in awkward situations with their fans. Such an incident happened with current NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez. Recently, she encountered a fan who continuously approached her in order to ‘rizz’ her up.
In a viral video, Perez can be seen in a promotional space for NXT: Heatwave with her NXT Women’s Championship. One fan approached her and complimented her. It clearly made things awkward for The Prodigy, as she made a puzzled face. The fan didn’t stop, as he went on to call Perez a Jenna Ortega lookalike.
You're cuter than a gummy bear, you're lovely than a lotus flower. You do. You do. You look like that girl from Wednesday, Jenna Ortega.Fan to Roxanne Perez
The 22-year-old wrestler moved away after the incident and continued with her promotions. Unfortunately, such incidents often occur with female stars in the wrestling world. Once, Sonya Deville also faced an incident where a stalker attempted to kidnap her. Needless to say, these types of fans should not be entertained as they try to invade the personal space of the stars.
Speaking of her wrestling career, Roxanne has been doing well on NXT lately. She has been a defending champion and looks like a promising star in the years to come. Recently, she was spotted training with Rhea Ripley at the WWE Performance Center. Furthermore, Perez shares a special bond with AJ Lee and CM Punk. Therefore, she spilled the tea on the return rumors of the Black Widow.
Roxanne Perez talked about her heel turn in NXT
Roxanne Perez has been the top heel on NXT. She has been working as an antagonist for almost a year now. In her tenure, she has faced a number of challenges and shined through all of them, garnering the respect of numerous fans in the process. Recently, the NXT Women’s Champion talked about her heel run in WWE.
Speaking with Pro Wrestling Illustrated, Perez stated that being a heel was a tough task for her as she pushed her comfort zone in order to adapt to the character. However, it has been a fun experience to play a villain on screen, which has made her time on NXT memorable.
I’m having so much fun with it. I’m definitely getting out of my comfort zone since I have always been in that babyface role. I think it’s really fun. I think that I’m definitely really stepping out of my comfort zone, out of the little box that I was in, and I feel like I’m definitely going to be able to do some really cool stuff in the future.Roxanne Perez via Pro Wrestling Illustrated
Perez even talked about how fans reacted at first to her heel turn. She revealed that she faced major criticism initially. Albeit said, she changed fans’ opinions with her performance. The Prodigy has been regularly defending her title on NXT, and her next defense is against rising star Thea Hill, which might be a stepping stone in her much anticipated feud with Giulia in the upcoming weeks.
